An artistic imagining, not existing hardware: a fission plant on the bank of one of Titan's methane seas, cut open as an exhibition model so the whole path from fuel lattice to cold water can be read at once. Cassini's radar found those seas to be liquid methane and ethane at roughly 90 to 95 kelvin, which is the reason to build there at all: a heat engine rejecting into a sink that cold has a theoretical ceiling above 90 percent, so the sea is not somewhere to dump waste heat but the other half of the engine.Image: poweringspace.com.
