The Sixteen-Hundredth Sun

At forty astronomical units the mirrors gather a sixteen-hundredth of a sun into one line that outshines the star that feeds it.

An artistic imagining, not real hardware. A near-empty square field of continuous violet gradient, divided by a single horizon a little above centre. Above the line the violet deepens smoothly to slate at the top edge; below it a paler lavender plain recedes, faintly ruled by soft converging seams and by rows that compress toward the horizon, reading as a mirror surface seen at a grazing angle. A hairline of warm white lies exactly on the horizon and blooms outward into violet-pink, brightest at the centre and running unbroken to both edges. Just above it hangs a small pale disc, softer and dimmer than the line, with a wide faint halo; a broad column of specular sheen falls from it down the plain, widening and fading. Low at the right, eight small saturated colour rectangles sit on one baseline as an unexplained code strip. No text, no figures, no hardware.
