The Warm Fields of the Pole

The settlement's waste heat is poured out across the polar ice as a field of glowing fins, each one a little warmer at the root and colder at the tip, all draining toward one dark collector under Phobos.

An artistic imagining, not real hardware. A view across the ice of Mars's north polar cap at night, where long parallel radiator fins recede toward a dark collector on the horizon. The fins glow warm gold at their roots and cool to blue-grey at their tips, with bright heat pipes running along the roots and faint cross-pipes converging on the collector. A small dark moon hangs in the cool sky above the horizon. No text, no insignia; nothing shown exists.
An artistic imagining, not real hardware: a waste-heat radiator farm spread across the north polar cap of Mars, where long finned slabs carry the settlement's surplus heat out to the polar night. No such farm exists; the scene is drawn as a gradient field of warm gold fins receding to a single dark collector under the small moon Phobos. Image: poweringspace.com. Artistic imagining.
