Blue Noon

Blue noon: daylight gathered hundreds of kilometres overhead, handed down one broad column and spread across a sleeping yard of panels.

An artistic imagining, not real hardware. A broad blue column of light comes down from a long dark platform cropped at the top edge of the frame and lands on a ranked field of receiver panels standing on an ochre lunar plain. The panel faces inside the blue swath ring alight blue, long warm shadows from a low sun at the left horizon rake across the ground, and one panel lies tipped face down with a small crawler stopped beside it. No text or insignia appears.
An artistic imagining, not real hardware: an orbital power platform hands daylight down as one broad blue column onto a sleeping yard of receiver panels near the lunar terminator, the faces inside the swath ringing alight while long warm shadows cross the ochre ground. Caltech's SSPD-1 MAPLE experiment demonstrated microwave power transfer in orbit in 2023; the platform, the yard and the beam as drawn here are speculation. Image: poweringspace.com.
