An artistic imagining, not real hardware. Minimalist continuous-tone image on a pale cool-gray field of haze with no horizon and no hard edges anywhere in the air. One tall dark machine stands at the center: a stack of twenty-one horizontal cooling fins spread from a rounded central riser column, capped by a wide flat header at the top and braced onto a low base slab, its silhouette the only sharp edge in the picture. The gaps between the fins glow warm, as does a soft halo of heated air around the metal, and a column of warmer, faintly rippling air rises from the top of the machine and dissolves before it reaches the upper edge. Coarse bitmap composition on a near-black green field: a wide chamfered slab like a chip package, drawn entirely from flat square cells on a visible module grid, floats among single-pixel stars. Inside it, three storage-bank gauges on the left hold descending levels of green charge, each topped by a brighter waterline row; dashed conduit rows carry cells of light rightward into a three-by-three grid of compute halls whose rack rows glow in mixed greens, brightest in the top row, sparse below, with one hall fully dark. Black-and-white continuous-tone image: in near-total darkness, a single vertical stack of fourteen softly glowing rounded cells stands on a faintly lit floor, its tone graded like a charge scale - brilliant white at the bottom, fading toward near-black at the top. High above and slightly to the right, one small, perfectly hard-edged white circle hangs in the dark, a widening cone of faint light falling from it onto the dim top of the stack. The vault of a huge tunnel is barely suggested by a breath of gray around the frame. Four ships lie in open gantry trusses at four scales and four berth angles: each has a heavy red keel rule, a bow of spaced ribs under a sheer line, a stern half plated solid in tightly set red rules, a boxy island with a mast, and flared cone nozzles. A red sun with short radial rules sits at upper left; two blue solar blankets drawn as parallel rules in frames meet at a circular rotary joint and feed a high-voltage bus, with a third blanket standing at the right edge. The bus crosses a dense woven switchboard of eleven red and eleven blue bars that overprints to near-black, passes a rank of five breaker circles, and branches as fat red trunk lines to each slip, where drop lines end in twelve-rayed welding arcs burning on the unfinished hulls. Art Deco style poster in violets: across a mid-value mauve sky, airbrushed into soft bands that all run perpendicular to one diagonal, a luminous power beam descends from a blazing eight-rayed white star ringed by halos in the upper right. The beam is drawn as railway lines - five converging rails with perpendicular sleeper ties, two of them brighter like passing pulses - landing on a dark stepped receiver mast that telescopes up from a platform on the curved dusk-lit limb of Mars in the lower left, with an orderly apron of collector panels running off the frame. Abstract line-work poster: on a near-black blue field, dozens of fine concentric ice-gray circles share one center, where a small white-cyan disc glows like a reactor core. A saturated cyan annulus of rings marks a liquid melt moat around the core, bounded by two brighter cyan circles. Ring spacing tightens into two vibrating optical bands, alternate rings dim in a mid annulus, a dial of 72 short radial ticks circles the moat, and straight hairline fracture lines cross the field but stop dead at the melt front. Below them a strict modular grid of 77 flat rectangular solar-panel tiles in stepped blues, palest nearest the disc and deepest at the far corner, holds the page; where the arcs cross the tiles the blues overprint two steps darker, like screenprint ink.

2026-07-10 Fortissimo at Perihelion

A fully speculative artistic imagining rendered as a flat-plane agitprop poster, not any real hardware or mission: on a near-black maroon field, a posterized Sun of stepped concentric red rings sits off-center with a cream-white core, and twenty-four straight spokes radiate from it. Along the spokes, single-file columns of tiny cream chevron scoop-ships march inward toward the Sun while trains of red diamond-shaped plasma bales stream outward, crossing a thin cream staging circle. In the lower right, one enormous black harvester ship with cream trim, twin tail fins, a cream dorsal stripe with red squares, and an open mouth filled by a bright red intake wedge dives toward the Sun, dwarfing both the swarm and the solar disc. No text appears in the image.

2026-07-09 A Million Scythes

Artistic imagining, not an existing station: a four-colour halftone serigraph on mid putty paper showing the inside of an orbital greenhouse. Long torn-edged shelves run diagonally from the lower left to the upper right, each carrying a row of big leafy crop heads printed in green with fluorescent magenta rims along their lit edges. Above each shelf hangs a dark plum lamp housing set with bright magenta lamp bars, and from each lamp a widening wedge of magenta dots falls onto the plants below, the wedges stopping where the leaves block them. A day-glo orange sun is cropped by the upper-left corner and throws broad dotted rays down onto torn orange collector vanes along the rack's sunward edge; an orange power conduit crosses the tiers and ends in a round junction at each lamp housing. Beyond the rack, a torn plum arm of the ring curves away with small magenta lit windows, orange crates of cut greens travel along it, and a large planet fills the lower-right corner in green halftone under a thin bright orange rim of dawn, with a scatter of plum stars in the open space between.

An artistic imagining built as a torn-paper collage on a light cream ground ruled faintly like a ledger. A large brown harvesting machine stands on tracks across the center, seated on a dark rubble crust that runs along the bottom of the frame. Its boom reaches down to the left, ending in dark wedge-shaped teeth that bite a bright pale ice mound; chips of ice fly up from the cut and arc into a hopper on the machine's shoulder. A single red panel glows at the machine's core, with a toothed radiator fin above it. From the upper right, flat gold bars of sunlight run down a shallow diagonal onto a long perforated collector panel tilted on the machine's mast, and small gold squares step down the mast to the red core. On the right, gold squares run level out of the machine into a perforated sheet of nine tank cells, two of them already torn away, the sheet struck through by a double-ring cancellation mark with wavy bars. 2026-07-07 The Comet Pays Out

An artistic imagining rendered as a flat cut-paper style poster on a pale sulfur-cream field: a dark charcoal aerostat - teardrop balloon envelope, thin spine, small hexagonal gondola, and a ladder of horizontal radiator slats - hangs in the exact center of the square, backed by a pale haze disc. Half the slats are bright vermilion with torn edges, and torn red scraps tumble away from the stack in two arcing trails, rotating as they fall toward the bottom of the frame, where an enormous hand-torn band of crimson and vermilion paper - the shed heat - spreads across layered tan cloud bands.
