An artistic imagining, not real hardware. A flat-plane transit-diagram poster on a light warm paper field ruled with a faint square grid. The right-hand third of the sheet is a single flat rectangle of near-black night, divided from the sunlit left by one dead-straight vertical line on a grid column; the curved limb of the Moon crosses the lower half, pale grey where the sun is on it and dark beyond the line. A steel viaduct runs the full width without a bend, bleeding off both edges: eight tall pylons on the grid, a deck ruled in black on the day side and in white on the night side, and above it two conductors of constant weight - a deep oxblood return line and a bright red live line. A three-car train with red-lit windows rides the deck straight through the boundary, its leading car chamfered at forty-five degrees, two pantographs touching the red line. On the sunlit left, three ranks of dark angled solar panels on steel masts throw hard black forty-five-degree shadows across the regolith beside the pylons' own; red take-off stubs drop from them to a red ground bus that bleeds off the left edge, turns up a pylon and climbs to the live conductor. On the dark right, one red drop falls from the same conductor through a small switchgear box slung under the deck to a second red ground bus, which raises three low steel habitat blocks with white roof rules and red-lit interiors. Purely procedural flat geometry, no gradients, no text, no insignia; nothing shown exists.

2026-06-13 Noon Feeds Midnight

An artistic imagining, not real hardware - nothing shown here exists. A four-colour print-style illustration on a mid-violet field ruled with a faint square register grid. At the lower left corner a small hard white star; a narrow gold wedge widens out of it across the field and ends on a large elliptical dish set low and left of centre, seen at an angle, its bowl shading from a warm lit crescent along one rim to deep blue-grey at the other. Three unequal struts cross the dish's mouth to a small pale receiver box just outside its edge. Behind the dish an open braced truss runs up and to the right, carrying two unequal rectangular radiator panels ruled with fins, one on each side and at different stations along the spine. At the far end of the truss a short tapered throat opens into a smaller ring-rimmed aperture whose lit face is the brightest thing in the picture. From that aperture a fan of concentric hard-edged arcs expands up and to the right and runs off the top-right corner - the same fan printed four times over, in yellow, magenta, cyan and violet, each pass slightly larger and swung a few degrees off the others, so the arcs cross and overprint into green, hot red and deep blue where they meet, with clean gaps where the beam pattern nulls. Every edge of the station carries a thin coloured fringe, as if the four printing passes were slightly out of register. Small, near the top right, a second dish and panel of the same design stand in the path of the arcs. No text, no insignia, no lettering - entirely procedural geometry.

2026-06-12 The Sun, Printed Again

An artistic imagining, not real hardware. A dark cyan picture of the floor of a lunar polar crater, rendered entirely in soft airbrushed tone with no outlines. The far crater rim arcs overhead against a black star field, carrying one thin thread of grazing sunlight that never falls past it. Standing on the floor below is a power station built only from spheres, cylinders and cones: a squat containment drum capped by a hemisphere at the left, a low turbine hall behind it, and two flared radiator towers of different sizes, the taller one rising past the rim into the sky and the smaller one set back to the right. In the gap between the containment and the big tower's foot a transfer duct glows warm cream-gold; it is the only light in the bowl, and it sits at ground level inside the machinery. Everything else is lit by it and cools to deep cyan as it goes away. Long foundation drums give each mass a footing on the ice. A pipe trunk walks out to the lower right and enters the ice through three unequal wellheads, each in its own pale frost bloom; a cable leaves to the lower left toward a small outpost module, tiny by comparison. Flat plates of ice lie scattered across the floor, and every one of them, and every part of the plant, throws a single hard-edged shadow straight away from the glowing duct, so the floor becomes a radiating star of shadow. Pasted into the black sky at the upper left is a hard-cut circular photograph of warm sunlit hills, tilted, with its own small sun and its own shadows falling the wrong way, lifted off the picture by a crisp drop shadow. No text, no insignia; nothing shown here exists.

2026-06-11 The Cold Is the Customer

An artistic imagining, not real hardware. A flat geometric composition on warm bone paper, built entirely from straight-edged filled polygons. At the exact centre sits the sun, drawn not as a circle but as a large fifteen-sided polygon in four concentric flat bands: a deep amber rim, a mid gold band, and a pale near-white interior. Around it a radial field of seventeen concentric rings is cut into fifteen equal wedges, and every resulting cell is filled with one of five flat golds chosen by a fixed rule, so broad rays of deep amber alternate with pale ones and step one sector sideways every third ring, making a slow spiral of light. Narrow lines of bare paper are left between every cell, so the underlying grid reads as a web of fine radial and concentric reveals; toward the corners the golds dissolve step by step into the paper itself. A thin segmented slate-blue ring crosses the outer field, carrying three small slate polygons. One clear corridor of bare paper runs from edge to edge across the square on a diagonal, passing behind the sun. Three spacecraft of decreasing size stand in that corridor: each is a dark boom with a fifteen-sided hub at its sunward end, a cross plate at its far end, and two rectangular wings carrying rows of deep amber panels, every panel with a pale strip along the edge that faces the sun. The largest sits at the lower right, its wings about as long as the sun is wide. No text or lettering appears anywhere.

2026-06-10 The Sun Divided Fifteen Ways

An artistic imagining, not real hardware and not a plan. A Dada-style photomontage on a near-black plum field, printed entirely in halftone dots with no flat areas anywhere. Filling the lower left and bleeding off two edges of the frame is an enormous banded gas giant, its cloud belts alternating hot magenta and deep wine and its edge burning bright; a large pale oval storm has been cut from another page and pasted onto its face. Clamped on the giant's edge is a heavy chamfered machine block striped with steel and magenta windings, its cream contact shoe pressed against the planet and throwing short white sparks where it touches. Two smaller copies of the same clamp, at about half and a quarter of its size, grip the edge further round. A railed ring runs out from behind the planet and right across the top of the frame like a ladder, two hot rails with cross-ties between them; three round moons at wildly different sizes ride it, each wearing a steel contact bar, and a few small machine units ride it with them. Thick cream cables gather from the clamps into one trunk and run down to the right, where a coil pack of alternating magenta and cream windings stands between two dark cheek plates above a ribbed drum on legs, and a single conductor leaves the drum and exits the right edge of the frame. The same planet appears a second time near the top left at a seventh of its size with its scissor edge still showing, thin magenta flux lines arc away from the giant's upper edge, and a dark slab in the top right is enlarged until its own printing screen has become the picture. The whole image is cut into eleven horizontal strips of unequal height, each printed at a different screen ruling and angle and slid sideways from its neighbours, so every form steps at every seam. No text, lettering, insignia, or figures appear anywhere.

2026-06-09 Jupiter Under Load

An artistic imagining, not real hardware. A wide line drawing on a warm mid-grey stone field, made only of straight lines, circular arcs and round dots in dark pine green, bright green and a little amber. The picture is organised in horizontal bands. Along the top, a heavy green power line runs edge to edge and drops thin feeders into four long horizontal wires from which about fifty round vessels hang in three sizes, each drawn as a ring with an inner liner, hoop bands and a horizontal fill line, many of those fill lines bright green. Across the middle stands a row of galley machines on one dead-straight heavy line that crosses the whole picture. From the left: a funnel hopper over a narrow column of stacked half-arcs; a boxed mill with a spoked wheel and a graduated standpipe; then an enormous octagonal pressure vessel whose circular door fills most of the height of the row, ringed by concentric circles, eight heavy locking dogs, a bright green seal ring and an octagonal centre hub, with one small amber sight glass set off to one side and a green relief pipe rising from its top through the hanging vessels; then a range with five inset hobs each carrying a small amber point, a wide amber oven arc below the counter line and a large angled extraction hood with hairline curls of heat rising off both shoulders; then a chill vault drawn as five nested squares around a finely ruled pale core; and finally three domed heat lamps with amber centres hanging over three serving wells set into the counter's edge. A thin ducting line runs out of both flanks of the pressure vessel toward the hopper on one side and the chill vault on the other. Below the counter a tray rail with three trays runs along the front. Lower still, a heavy green trunk line crosses the picture with six vertical taps rising to the machines, each through a small switch ring, and beneath it a row of twelve squares with inscribed circles. No text or lettering appears anywhere. Nothing shown exists.

2026-06-08 The Long Counter

An artistic imagining, not real hardware. A flat-plane signage board on a pale near-white square ruled by a faint blue-grey module grid, with the sheet's own construction geometry - square diagonals, an inscribed diamond, an inscribed circle - left faintly visible. At lower left a pale blue mass of water ice is cut into benches whose risers all fall at exactly forty-five degrees; a shaft with an A-frame headframe drops into it and three horizontal galleries with small square chambers run out sideways, and a small figure built from bars with a plain circle head stands on the top bench for scale. A dark cutter machine with a toothed disc bites the second bench and a loader digs the third; a forty-five degree conveyor carries square ice blocks up to a chamfered hopper, which feeds a vessel half full of pale blue meltwater warmed by orange heater bars. A cyan distribution bar drops water into a five-by-six matrix of identical square electrolysis cells, each holding a disc and a rising chain of two small bubbles; the disc colour steps across the five columns through a systematic blue spectrum from palest ice to deepest indigo. A dark indigo pipe network collects hydrogen below the matrix, climbs a riser, runs level along the top and couples to a tall silver tanker standing at right, whose vertical gauge is filled about two thirds with bright blue; a light green header carries oxygen into a green-filled tank, and a second blue tank stands between. An orange power bus runs from a plain orange source disc and a stack of five parallel flux rules, past four tilted collector panels, down the left side of the plant with a rung into every cell row. A twelve-square colour key sits on the baseline in the lower margin. Every edge is horizontal, vertical, or forty-five degrees; flat fills only, no gradients. Purely procedural geometry; no text, no insignia, no real hardware depicted, and nothing shown exists.

2026-06-07 Ice Reads Left to Right

An artistic imagining, not real hardware. A flat-plane poster in which every edge runs at a multiple of 30 degrees, on a dark, near-black field. At the lower left a caldera is cut into brown terraced ground and filled with a molten lake drawn as nested angular terraces stepping from deep red through orange to a white-gold centre; thin orange fissures still glow in the plain around it. A column of fire rises from the lake and spreads into a stack of six flat umbrella caps that cool upward from pale gold through orange to dark maroon. A black duct runs down the slope from the right and ends in a black intake hood whose wide lower lip stands in the melt; a plain cream arrow lies along the duct pointing up the slope. The duct climbs to a black machine hall that stands on two unequal piers and one diagonal brace on the caldera rim, hard-cut against a huge flat block of signal red that fills the right third of the picture. The hall carries two unequal cream window strips, one flat cobalt-blue panel, and a stack with a lopsided cream cap. From the hall a flat cobalt bar with a cream arrow on it runs off the right edge of the frame. A black boom carries a large radiator wing up and to the right on the picture's one rising diagonal: a bank of eleven slanted slats, divided by thin black lines, cooling along the wing's length from signal red at the manifold through maroon and plum to blue-black at the tip, with three plain cream arrows leaving its face square to the panel. In the upper left a huge banded body cropped by the top and left edges is drawn as flat horizontal stripes of maroon and rose, its lower-right limb faceted into straight segments and lit with a bright cream-gold rim. Two hairline cream rules are ruled straight across the whole field on the same rising diagonal, one of them crossing the banded body. No text, lettering, insignia or figures appear anywhere.

2026-06-06 Handing the Heat Back

An artistic imagining, not real hardware. A flat-plane picture on a deep blue-black field, everything bounded by hand-walked brush contours rather than ruled lines. One long structure crosses the frame on a rising diagonal, entering at the lower left and leaving at the right. Most of its face is a dense wall of small pale ice-blue panels set in three uneven rows, module after module of them running off both edges of the picture; a handful of the panels stand offset from their dark openings, as drawers pulled part way out, and a few larger sealed hatches with strapped dark insets break the rhythm. Three openings are cut into that wall at irregular intervals, one small, one medium, one much larger. Each is lined in warm brown and holds two lit decks: a pale cream lamp bar across the top of each deck, an orange zone of light below it, a dark shelf, and low masses of green foliage standing on the shelf. Above the largest opening a glazed blister rises clear of the roof line, framed in blue and crossed by glazing bars, and inside it a single seedling stands far taller than the machinery around it: a thick stem climbing the full height of the bay and out into the blister, carrying four broad unequal leaves silhouetted against the lamps. Around each opening the hull turns brighter blue in two flat steps with hard drawn edges, showing where the light falls. A power conduit runs above the structure on a slightly different angle, collared at intervals, dropping short links down into the roof beside each lit bay. Near the top of the frame the conduit carries a machine block seated on a solid plinth, with one narrow pale aperture at its left end and a fan of eight unequal radiator vanes splaying away from it into the emptiness. A catwalk runs along the structure's lower flank and one small suited figure stands on it in silhouette, no taller than a fifth of one lit bay. The rest of the frame is empty dark blue printed in broad flat bands, with a scatter of faint specks and one small pale disc high on the right standing in for a distant sun. No text, lettering or insignia appears anywhere.

2026-06-04 Ten Thousand Drawers, Three Lit Bays

An artistic imagining, not real hardware. A view from inside the upper atmosphere of Uranus. Banded blue cloud sweeps in long unequal arcs around a vortex whose centre sits low and to the right, outside the picture's middle, and the whole field is visibly built of square cells: coarse blocks across the far sky, finer ones close to the machine. A large dark faceted craft crosses the frame on a diagonal, nose down toward the vortex. At its nose a wide rectangular ram intake stands open, keylined in pale cyan, and bright streams of gas are seen crossing the rim and running down the throat past two unequal splitter struts and a lit compression ramp. A crescent of bow shock stands off ahead of the intake, and a short wide lip projects into the flow below it. Behind the intake a ribbed compressor drum vents orange light through a ragged row of slots, the only warm colour in the image. Behind that a boxy liquefier feeds a pale cyan manifold that runs the length of the vehicle's back and sends four raked spurs up into four cylindrical propellant tanks of different sizes, each showing a different level of bright liquid whose surface is a visible staircase of whole raster cells, at roughly seven eighths, two thirds, a little over two fifths and under a fifth. A swept delta wing carries two panelled inlays below the body, its leading edge glowing from ram heating, and a thin vortex trails from the wingtip. Faint ordered dot screens lie over the lower left corner and the upper left, showing where the atmospheric layers overlap.

2026-06-03 The Planet Is the Tank

An artistic imagining, not real hardware. A pale rose lunar plain stretches to a hard horizontal horizon under a dark plum sky, with a small half-lit moon hanging at upper left. Across the middle distance stands a long rank of tall rectangular radiator blades, all canted so their thin edges face the overhead Sun. Their translucent faces cool from pale pink at the base toward shadow at the top, and patterned lower panels connect to a vivid magenta header. At right, a squat cylindrical shielded reactor feeds the header through a pump house and hot pipe; a segmented pale return line curves across the foreground. The blades overlap and diminish into the distance, casting narrow shadows across a ruled ground shield.

2026-06-02 Only the Sky Is Cold $An artistic imagining, not real hardware. A dark line-work plate, drawn entirely in ruled pen strokes of three weights on a deep indigo ground, showing a casting deck in orbit about Ceres in axonometric projection, the works running from the upper left corner down to the lower right. At the top left three large lattice collector wings on a guyed mast are cropped by the edge of the sheet; three heavy magenta conductors run down the mast in dead straight runs with cleats to a switchgear cabinet whose front carries five shelves of small magenta indicators, and a magenta busbar runs on along the deck above the machinery, dropping once into the head of each vessel. Three standing crucibles occupy the centre: two are closed, with card slots radiating around their open heads and a few of the slots lit magenta, and the tallest has its near quarter cut away in the manner of a catalogue half-section, its two cut faces hatched at forty-five degrees, showing eight tiers of card cages inside, the lower five incandescent magenta and the upper three cold grey, with a dense band of hot rules at the working level and live induction turns wrapped round the wall that remains. To the right a fourth crucible hangs on trunnions in a latticed steel tower, tipped past horizontal with a refractory cover closing the upper half of its mouth and a bail bar across it; a bright stream of magenta and near white hairlines falls from its beak in a shallow arc into an open mould box, where the section being cast glows as a contour map on a rectangular plate. A roller table carries four finished plates across the near deck, each a different parallel cut through the same body, drawn as a circular outline with irregular off-centre contours inside it and one sector hatched, cooling from hot magenta at the mould end to bone white at the far end; a fifth plate stands on edge in an inspection jig at the left under a reticle of unequal cross rules, and a low stack of uncast blanks waits beside it. Ceres itself hangs in the upper right, drawn as its own family of latitude sections, bright rules on the sunlit limb thinning into rows of dots across the terminator, with broken crater arcs. A faint ruled construction lattice covers the whole deck and runs on past the machinery into bare deck; dimension lines with open arrowheads and no numerals sit on the drawing, and trim marks stand at the corners. No text, no insignia, no filled areas, no shading; nothing shown exists.$ 2026-06-01 Casting Ceres
